A blast of stomping, fuzzed up guitar, savage drums and punchy bass, the new single by South Yorkshire trio FloodHounds taps into the melody of indie, the grit of blues and the fury of punk. Touching on lyrical themes of remaining unified instead of giving in to alienation and uncertainty, new track ‘Panic Stations’ pairs FloodHounds’ potent lyricism with their unruly live energy to form their trademark melodic and swaggering groove.
‘Something Primeval’ is the second of two new tracks the band crowdfunded to record with producer Thomas Mitchener, at Broadfield Studios in Watford. Mitch produced Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes’ first two albums, as well as singles for Strange Bones, BlackWaters, Wargasm, Sheafs & Kid Kapichi. The new track follows previous single ‘Out Of Time’ which BBC Introducing described as “magnificent” as they named it Record Of The Week and featured in the Top 50 tracks of 2019.
